Most people acknowledge that the way people communicate in texts or emails now involves adding videos and photos. Does that mean that colleges’ writing departments need to incorporate these multimedia skills into academic work? If so, we’ll need to evolve our teaching practices to include copyright/ethics in using multimedia. As a student myself, I usually add images and videos in my discussion board posts. I also use headings to break up long passages of text. Are those skills we need to start teaching students?
